Which team will you join?
Speakers Team
Research, recruit, and collaborate with both student speakers and professionals from around the world and help craft their TEDxEmory talk.
Tasks Include:
Research and identify potential student and professional speakers.
Collaborate with speakers to develop engaging, well-structured TEDx talks.
Conduct speaker rehearsals to ensure smooth and impactful presentations.
Coordinate with the Marketing team to promote the selected speakers.
Manage communication and scheduling with speakers leading up to the event.
Ensure the speakers' needs are met (e.g., transportation, accommodations).
Main Conference
Planning, organizing, and coordinating our main conference.
Tasks Include:
Develop the overall agenda and schedule for the main conference.
Work closely with the Speakers Team to align talk times with the flow of the event.
Coordinate with external vendors for audio/visual setup, lighting, and venue management.
Recruit student organizations for performances between speaker sessions.
Ensure all event materials (program guides, speaker bios, etc.) are prepared and distributed.
Oversee conference registration and check-in processes.
Manage post-event surveys and feedback to improve future conferences.
Special Events
Planning and executing our Salon events (there are several throughout the year) and special
collaborations with other Atlanta based TEDx organizations.
Tasks Include:
Plan and execute smaller Salon events throughout the year.
Identify and organize special collaborations with other TEDx organizations across Atlanta.
Work with community organizations to secure venues for Salon events.
Organize themed events to encourage focused discussions around specific topics.
Ensure that all special events are inclusive and accessible to diverse audiences.
Gather feedback from attendees and speakers to enhance future Salon events.
Finance
Secures funding and creates sponsorship throughout the year working with various groups
on campus and in the Atlanta area.
Tasks Include:
Develop and manage the annual budget for TEDxEmory events.
Secure sponsorships and partnerships with companies and organizations.
Ensure compliance with university financial policies and procedures.
Work with external partners and campus groups to allocate funding appropriately.
Create financial reports and updates to track event expenditures and sponsorship success.
Collaborate with the Programming team to manage costs for vendors, venues, and other resources.
Marketing
Marketing our events, graphic design, social media management, content creation, customer relationship management (CRM), website editing, and marketing analytics.
Tasks Include:
Design promotional materials for TEDxEmory, including posters, flyers, and social media graphics.
Manage TEDxEmory's social media accounts, creating regular content to engage the community.
Work closely with the all teams to ensure cohesive branding and event promotion.
Organize media coverage of the event across all channels.
Analyze marketing statistics to determine best practices.
